The Longo Firm P.A.

I have over 12 years of experience working as a personal injury trial lawyer, and I’ve participated in thousands of personal injury cases from start to finish, including car crashes, slip-and-fall and trip-and-fall incidents, product liability claims, and workers’ compensation cases. I’m also the managing attorney of The Longo Firm, which is located in Davie, Florida. We focus on personal injury and labor and employment cases.

Why Is It Important For People To Receive The Best Possible Legal Representation After Sustaining An Injury Caused By Someone Else’s Negligence?

Once a personal injury settlement has been accepted, the case is over. In other words, the plaintiff won’t be able to go back and reevaluate the case five, 10, or 15 years later. This is one reason we take our responsibilities as trial lawyers so seriously. It is our job to guide clients on the tough road they face, and prepare them for the traps laid at every turn by the insurance companies and defense lawyers. It is no secret that insurance companies love to attack the credibility and character of plaintiffs; we are there to protect both.

At our firm, we believe that everything starts with our clients, and we make it our mission to first discover their unique human stories. We do this by spending real time with our clients—time outside of the office, no suits and ties. We might meet up with them for a happy hour drink or a coffee. We spend time with our clients much in the same way that we spend time with our friends, family members, and any other human being that we care about. This allows us to get to know our clients and their family members in their natural environment. Who are they? What are they passionate about? What is important to them as human beings?

We might look at their old photo albums and share life stories with each other, all with the intention of simply getting to know them. We want to be able to really walk a mile in their shoes, connect with them on a human level, and establish a trusting relationship. I find that this provides us with an invaluable tool. We have an appreciation for the people we fight for. We understand what our clients are going through, what their families have experienced, what they’ve lost, what’s been taken from them, and the nuances of their pain and suffering. In my opinion, this is an absolute must while prepping a case for trial.

Some say that attorneys shouldn’t get emotionally involved with their cases, but instead make a clear, black-and-white separation between themselves and the emotional journey of their clients. I tend to disagree with that. My first and foremost goal is to take care of and protect my clients, and in order to represent human beings, I sometimes have to be one myself. I tend to side with Gerry Spence, who is famous for saying, “How can we ask a jury to care for our clients if we can’t do the same ourselves?”

Our job is to care for our clients, which means truly understanding them as individuals before, during and after the injury. The story goes so far beyond the mere medical records; we fully appreciate this, which is what separates us from the rest and equips us with the ability to provide our clients with the best possible representation.
